Dr. George Kornfeld has been providing low vision services for 35 years. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is a member of the Low Vision Section. He began his exposure to low vision through the expert tutelage of Dr. William Feinbloom, the inventor of many of the miniature telescopes used today. Since that time Dr. Kornfeld has worked in the low vision services of several hospitals.
Dr. Kornfeld was instrumental in establishing the low vision clinic at a rehabilitation center and at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY. For the past 20 years, Dr. Kornfeld has been in private practice in Rochester, NY, emphasizing low vision optometry. He serves low vision patients from Westchester to Canada, including western New York.
